Transformation happens in Seasons
One of the most common beliefs we have carried in armouring through the world is the belief that the wholeness of our humanity, including the natural processes our bodies (including our minds) move through and the unique time and space needed for each of these processes for each unique being on this earth, are somehow flawed. Blossoming into our true nature, including our natural human needs to be loved and valued is a natural human process that is always evolving for all beings.
Pain, disconnection distress, the fear and desperation in our armour, adaptive suffering and blossoming into our true nature through connection, are all natural human processes that are always evolving. Nature shows us that it takes a whole year for the earth to move through four seasons. Trees reach maturity at different rates and different times ranging from age 10 to several decades. So whether we fully matured at age 10 or are still maturing at age 60, we are nature.

From the belief that we are somehow flawed, beginning, opening and moving into our life's experiences, holding our experiences with care, and then ending, closing, releasing and letting go of our experiences when we need to and beginning again, can feel overwhelming. A flower reminds us that this cycle is completely natural and even happens in just one day. When we observe the slow, gentle, small transformations nature requires to flourish, we experience a deep trust and awe in knowing our own natural human processes require the same to transform and flourish and witness our inner experiences with fiercely loving presence. In small, slow and gentle ways, the truth, love, power and wisdom of the energy of our present, natural, embodied, whole Self emerges.

Beginning with Light

Blossoming in Seasons - Beginning with Light is an experience of connecting to yourself through up to one year of weekly, hybrid nature walking and virtual psychotherapy. We experience the slow shift from one season to the next and allow nature to nourish and awe-inspire us as we share presence, walk together and connect. You may choose to practice for one season, two seasons or all four seasons. You are free to stop at any time along the way. Blossoming in Seasons is a practice you can engage with no matter where you are on your own path of blossoming into your true, whole embodied and present self. Although we link the qualities cultivated to a specific season, you may begin your practice at any time of year and the wisdom and practices of all seasons are integrated into each session so together we will improvise meeting each moment with the energy of the season it calls for.

We begin with the warmth and light of summer, cultivating the quality of fiercely loving presence through practices of relational mindfulness and embodied self-compassion. We'll co-create a space for you to turn inwards towards yourself and deeply listen to all the different parts of you with non-judgement.
Autumn invites curiosity as we embody the practice of exploration through all of the different colours of the issues you may be experiencing through practices of turning inside you towards whatever arises in the mind, heart and body around the issue and asking questions that reflect the truth and wholeness of the issue and everything experienced around it.

Winter reminds us to intentionally slow down, embodying spaciousness through practices of conscious breath, whole body awareness and deceleration to experience the power of non-doing in allowing our mind, heart and body the space and rest they need from doing to breathe through processes of being before returning to processes of doing. Winter practices widen and deepen our tolerance for our lived experience supporting us to sit with and hold whatever may arise within us or around us with care even when we may not yet know what to do about it.

The wisdom of Spring is in integrating new beginnings, savouring the newness that has emerged within us and around us through the blossoming of our natural inner wisdom. We may be savouring something as simple as a deeper understanding or clarity of what the issue actually is or an awareness that we are actually not flawed and not alone and that our difficulties are more common than we had imagined. The process of savouring and integrating moments of insight, deepening, widening or awakening, nourishes us as we open to the next moment in our lives resourced with both our natural inner wisdom and the wisdom of the seasons. We begin again in each moment with warmth and light, being a loving presence for ourselves and allowing ourselves to walk through the natural seasons of our humanity as we cycle through them in a moment, in a year and beyond.
